The ISO/IEC 27701:2019 standard, jointly issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), builds upon the Information Security Management System (ISMS) framework and establishes systematic requirements for organizations that control and process Personally Identifiable Information (PII). It covers key areas such as privacy risk assessment, data lifecycle management, security controls, and technical safeguards. Widely recognized as one of the most authoritative international standards for privacy protection and data security, ISO/IEC 27701:2019 serves as a global benchmark for robust and compliant data management practices.
